What it costs to run
Fuel only — change any figure to your ownPrices are Delhi's, read 2026-11-04. Fuel duty is set per state, so they are the state's figure rather than Delhi's.
| Variant | km/l | Fuel, a year |
|---|---|---|
| E 1.5 Petrol MT | ₹70,428 | |
| E 1.5 Diesel MT | ₹52,404 |
The diesel costs ₹1,70,300 more and saves ₹18,024 a year on fuel at these numbers, so it pays that back at about 1,13,382 km.
Fuel only. It does not price servicing, insurance, tyres or what the Hyundai Creta is worth when you sell it — a diesel usually costs more to maintain, and we publish no figure for that rather than estimate one.

Trim by trim
Each block is one trim level. The cheapest powertrain at that trim is the baseline; every other is shown as what it costs over it.

Hyundai Creta powertrains: common questions
- How many powertrains is the Hyundai Creta sold with?
- 5: Petrol manual, Diesel manual, 1.5 · Petrol IVT, Diesel automatic, 1.5 Turbo · Petrol DCT. The cheapest way into the range is the E 1.5 Petrol MT at ₹10,90,700 ex-showroom, and the dearest entry point is the King 1.5 Turbo Petrol DCT at ₹19,91,300.
- On the Hyundai Creta, does changing powertrain change the equipment?
- Not on the E, which is sold as both the E 1.5 Petrol MT and the E 1.5 Diesel MT with identical equipment. The ₹1,70,300 between them buys the powertrain and nothing else.
- What mileage does each Hyundai Creta powertrain claim?
- Petrol manual: 17.4 kmpl; Diesel manual: 21.8 kmpl; 1.5 · Petrol IVT: 17.7 kmpl; Diesel automatic: 19.1 kmpl; 1.5 Turbo · Petrol DCT: 18.4 kmpl. These are the manufacturer's certified figures, not our own, and CNG is certified per kilogram rather than per litre — the two numbers are not comparable directly.
What this car's data leaves out
Left out: the King Lounge, which Hyundai prices but gives no column in its own equipment table, plus the Knight editions and the dual-tone paint versions.
Data notes — where these figures come from
1.5 MPi petrol manual and IVT, 1.5 CRDi diesel manual and automatic, and the 1.5 turbo-petrol DCT, on every trim from E to King, following Hyundai's engine-and-trim plan: SX is petrol manual only, SX Premium has no diesel automatic, and the turbo DCT is sold on King alone. Hyundai's equipment table has one column per trim rather than per fuel, so a diesel inherits its trim's list; rows it marks 'S*' are 'iVT/AT/DCT only'. Paddle shifters and drive and traction modes are S* on S(O), SX Premium and King, so only those trims' automatics are credited with them; the electronic parking brake is S* on S(O) and SX Premium but standard on every King. Level 2 ADAS, ambient lighting, the powered driver seat memory and 18-inch wheels are King only; the 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat and Bose audio arrive at SX Premium. Rebuilding from this brochure credited three things the EX(O) and SX had been missing: the EX(O)'s LED tail lamps with the connected rear light bar and its rear window sunshades, and the SX's 10.25-inch digital cluster. Hyundai publishes no certified efficiency for the IVT, the diesel or the turbo in this brochure, so those variants store none. The King Lounge (petrol IVT and diesel automatic) is priced by Hyundai but has no column in the brochure's equipment table, so it is left out rather than guessed at. The Knight editions and the dual-tone paint versions are not modelled. Hyundai's brochure has no row for a manual day/night mirror below the electrochromic one on the King, so none is credited. Wherever the Creta has drive modes it also has the snow, mud and sand traction modes, so the full drive-and-traction feature applies rather than the plain drive-mode tier.
