Fuel only. It does not price servicing, insurance, tyres or what the Mahindra Scorpio N is worth when you sell it — a diesel usually costs more to maintain, and we publish no figure for that rather than estimate one. 1 of these variants have no certified efficiency, so type your own to see a cost.

Trim by trim
Each block is one trim level. The cheapest powertrain at that trim is the baseline; every other is shown as what it costs over it.

Mahindra Scorpio N powertrains: common questions
- How many powertrains is the Mahindra Scorpio N sold with?
- 6: Petrol manual, Diesel manual, Petrol automatic, Diesel automatic, Diesel manual 4WD, Diesel automatic 4WD. The cheapest way into the range is the Z2 2.0 Petrol MT at ₹13,69,000 ex-showroom, and the dearest entry point is the Z8 T 2.2 Diesel AT 4WD at ₹24,39,249.
- On the Mahindra Scorpio N, does changing powertrain change the equipment?
- Not on the Z2, which is sold as both the Z2 2.0 Petrol MT and the Z2 2.2 Diesel MT with identical equipment. The ₹49,999 between them buys the powertrain and nothing else.
What this car's data leaves out
Left out: the six-seat Z8L and Z8 T. Four-wheel-drive variants ARE included, and are compared only against other 4WD variants — a 4WD car measured against its 2WD twin would score the transfer case as missing equipment.
Data notes — where these figures come from
CORRECTED 18 Oct 2026 against the facelift brochure's variant matrix (SCN_brochure.pdf, page 24): Level 2 ADAS is credited on the Z8L automatics only, because the matrix marks Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go "[AT variant only]" and our entry requires adaptive cruise; the Z8 T and Z8L 4WD diesels carry 4XPLOR terrain modes but not Zip-Zap-Zoom ("Diesel 2WD"), so they sit at the drive-modes level rather than drive-and-terrain. 2.0 turbo-petrol manual and automatic, and 2.2 mHawk diesel manual and automatic, across Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 Select, Z8, Z8 T and Z8L in their seven-seat, two-wheel-drive form. The Z2 and Z4 diesel manuals are the lower 132 PS tune Mahindra restricts to those two trims; every diesel above them is the 175 PS engine. Z6 and Z8 are sold as diesels only. Equipment is read from Mahindra's own brochure, whose variant-wise table describes Z8 Select separately — it is materially below Z8 — and puts the Z8 T between Z8 and Z8L: it adds ventilated seats, the powered driver seat, Sony audio, 18-inch wheels, the electronic parking brake and front parking sensors, while Level 2 ADAS, the 360-degree camera and the panoramic sunroof stay Z8L only. The brochure lists no gearbox-dependent equipment row on these trims, so each automatic inherits its trim's list unchanged. Mahindra's brochure credits the Z2 with a larger 22.86 cm touchscreen than the Z4 and Z6 get at 20.32 cm; that reads like an error but it is what the manufacturer publishes, so it stands. Mahindra publishes no certified efficiency for the diesel or the automatics, so those variants store none. Four-wheel drive is a drivetrain choice rather than equipment, and laddering a 4WD against its 2WD twin would score the drivetrain as missing kit, so 4WD variants are not modelled; nor are the six-seat Z8L and Z8 T. Mahindra's variants matrix calls the powered driver's seat 6-way, so from 16 Sept 2026 it is credited at our 4-way tier rather than the 8-way one, and the LED projector fog lamps start at Z8 Select (the August 2026 facelift brochure, SCN_brochure.pdf, and Mahindra's per-variant spec pages both show none on Z6; corrected 18 Oct 2026). Downhill brake control is standard on every trim. The matrix has no row for a remote key, a front armrest or a cooled glovebox, so none is credited even though the car may have them — under-crediting rather than guessing. Four-wheel-drive variants are now modelled, and they ladder separately from their two-wheel-drive twins because a transfer case is not equipment. The 6-seat Z8L versions stay excluded, as six-seat versions of a seven-seater are everywhere on this site. Mahindra's advanced electronic brake locking differential and the 4XPLOR hardware itself have no registry entry and earn nothing. WIRELESS ANDROID AUTO (9 Oct 2026): Mahindra's own feature walk (press note annexure) lists 'Android Auto / Car Play (Wired + Wireless)' as incremental on Z8S over Z6, inherited by Z8, Z8T and Z8L; Z4 is '(Wired)'. REVERSING CAMERA (re-read 29 Oct 2026): the maker describes the camera without saying its guidelines move with the steering, so the camera entry (moving guidelines) is not credited. ROOF RAILS (re-read 29 Oct 2026): Mahindra's brochure lists a 'Ski-rack' with no load stated, so roof rails are not credited (the Scorpio Classic call).
