Skoda Kylaq powertrains: common questions
- How many powertrains is the Skoda Kylaq sold with?
- 2: Petrol manual, Petrol automatic. The cheapest way into the range is the Classic 1.0 TSI MT at ₹7,59,000 ex-showroom, and the dearest entry point is the Classic+ 1.0 TSI AT at ₹9,29,000.
- On the Skoda Kylaq, does changing powertrain change the equipment?
- Not on the Classic+, which is sold as both the Classic+ 1.0 TSI MT and the Classic+ 1.0 TSI AT with identical equipment. The ₹1,00,000 between them buys the powertrain and nothing else.
- What mileage does each Skoda Kylaq powertrain claim?
- Petrol manual: 19.68 kmpl; Petrol automatic: 19.05 kmpl. These are the manufacturer's certified figures, not our own, and CNG is certified per kilogram rather than per litre — the two numbers are not comparable directly.
What this car's data leaves out
Covers all six trims in both gearboxes. Leaves out the Sportline: Skoda's site now names it, but neither its brochure nor its price configurator gives its price or full equipment yet.
Data notes — where these figures come from
VARIANT SET: Skoda's brochure price list (p19) shows six trims, with the automatic on all but Classic — eleven variants, which is what we carry. Its online configurator independently returns 9 of those 11 and agrees on every price to the rupee. Two Sportline versions appear in neither the brochure nor the configurator's own variant filter (CLASSIC, CLASSIC+, SIGNATURE, SIGNATURE+, PRESTIGE, PRESTIGE+), so they are left out. Re-checked 28 Oct 2026: Skoda's own Kylaq page now lists a Sportline 1.0 TSI MT/AT and names some of its kit (17-inch black alloys, dual-tone roof, ambient lighting, 15W wireless charger), but prints no price; the configurator API still returns the same 11 variants and the brochure (January 2026) has no Sportline column. Add it when Skoda publishes a price and an equipment list. PRICES: the brochure's own price list is stale — it reads Rs 8,25,000 for Classic+ where the live configurator reads Rs 8,29,000, and it is low by Rs 2,000-10,000 on nine of eleven rows. The live configurator is taken as current and the brochure is used for equipment only. ESC is ticked on all six trims (brochure p.28) and is credited on all 11 since the entry stopped requiring hill start, which Skoda fits from Signature+ up (29 Oct 2026). NOT CREDITED, each because the brochure says something narrower than the registry entry: the tail lamps are LED but are not described as connected; there are no front parking sensors; and no automatic climate control is credited — the matrix lists 'Manual AC' on the lower three trims and names nothing in its place on the upper three, so rather than assume we leave it out. SIZE-GRADED ENTRIES are credited at the nearest rung at or below the real figure, which under-reports slightly: the 25.6 cm touchscreen is 10.08 inches and is credited at the 9-inch rung, the 20.32 cm Virtual Cockpit is 8 inches and is credited at the 7-inch rung, and the 6-way powered driver's seat is credited at the 4-way rung. SEAT HEIGHT: Prestige+ replaces the manual height adjuster with a 6-way electrically adjustable seat. Read literally that is a lost feature, but a 6-way powered seat adjusts height too, and this registry deliberately keeps the height adjuster separate from the powered seats rather than laddering them — 80 variants elsewhere hold both. Both are credited on Prestige+. HEADLAMPS: Skoda fits 'Crystalline LED Headlamps' to the lower four trims and 'Crystalline LED Projector Headlamps' to Prestige and Prestige+. Our registry ranks a projector lamp BELOW full LED with DRLs, which would read as the dearer trims losing equipment. All six carry LED headlamps with LED DRLs, so all six are credited at that entry and the projector rung is not used. PADDLE SHIFTERS (9 Oct 2026): credited on the Signature, Signature+, Prestige and Prestige+ automatics, not the Classic+ AT. Skoda's own brochure (skoda-kylaq.pdf) lists 'Paddle Shifter (AT Only)' in the Signature features overview and again under Signature+, each trim being 'in addition to' the one below; RE-READ 29 OCT 2026 against the brochure matrix (pages 28-29): the reversing camera on Signature+ and above is 'Rear View Camera with static guidelines', so the camera entry (moving guidelines) is no longer credited; 'Ambient interior light' on Prestige and Prestige+ does not say it runs across the dashboard and doors, so it is no longer credited; and 'Electrically foldable exterior mirror - Auto folding with car lock system' on Signature+, Prestige and Prestige+ now earns auto-folding mirrors, which had been missed.
