What it costs to run

Fuel only — change any figure to your own

Prices are Delhi's, read 2026-11-04. Fuel duty is set per state, so they are the state's figure rather than Delhi's.

Variantkm/lFuel, a year
Smart+ 1.5 Petrol MT· no certified figure—
Smart+ 1.5 Diesel MT· no certified figure—

Fuel only. It does not price servicing, insurance, tyres or what the Tata Sierra is worth when you sell it — a diesel usually costs more to maintain, and we publish no figure for that rather than estimate one. 2 of these variants have no certified efficiency, so type your own to see a cost.

Trim by trim

Each block is one trim level. The cheapest powertrain at that trim is the baseline; every other is shown as what it costs over it.

Tata Sierra powertrains: common questions

How many powertrains is the Tata Sierra sold with?
5: Petrol manual, Diesel manual, 1.5 · Petrol DCA, Diesel automatic, 1.5 · Petrol automatic. The cheapest way into the range is the Smart+ 1.5 Petrol MT at ₹11,49,000 ex-showroom, and the dearest entry point is the Adventure+ 1.5 Turbo Petrol AT at ₹18,14,000.
On the Tata Sierra, does changing powertrain change the equipment?
Not on the Smart+, which is sold as both the Smart+ 1.5 Petrol MT and the Smart+ 1.5 Diesel MT with identical equipment. The ₹1,50,000 between them buys the powertrain and nothing else.

What this car's data leaves out

Covers all three engines and both the Signature and Legend trim series — every trim and powertrain Tata prices. Leaves out the Dark appearance editions.

Data notes — where these figures come from

VARIANT SET: Tata's own POWERTRAIN MIX table (brochure p34) gives 36 trim/powertrain cells. Since 12 Oct 2026 we carry all 36: the Adventure+ 1.5 NA petrol manual is priced at Rs 16,14,000 by Tata's own price list. Its equipment is the Adventure+ petrol DCA's less paddle shifters: Tata's own data shows paddles as the only difference between the manual and automatic of the same trim, on both the Adventure+ diesel and the Adventure+ L petrol. DARK editions are excluded as appearance editions under the usual rule; Tata publishes a separate sierra-dark-brochure.pdf for them, which is what settles it. 'L' is the Legend series and is kept — Tata's own footnote reads 'Applicable only for Pure+L and Adventure+L in Legend series'. POWERTRAIN QUALIFICATIONS, all from the brochure's own footnotes on p35 rather than inferred: Level 2 ADAS is credited only to the automatics, because adaptive cruise, lane centring and advance steering assist are marked '6AT and 7DCA only' and our registry entry requires adaptive cruise; blind-spot detection, lane-change alert and rear cross-traffic alert arrive with ADAS L2+ on Accomplished+ and are NOT gearbox-qualified by the brochure, so they are credited on the manuals too; paddle shifters are '6AT and 7DCA only'; drive modes are marked '1.5L TGDi Hyperion and 1.5L Kryojet only', so the NA petrol earns neither the drive-modes nor the drive-and-terrain-modes entry even on trims whose terrain selector it does have; and 18-inch and 19-inch alloys are 'TGDi Hyperion and Kryojet only', so the NA petrol carries 17-inch wheels on Adventure+, Adventure+ L and Accomplished. NOT CREDITED, each because the brochure says something narrower than the registry entry: the 10.16 cm digital cockpit on Smart+ sits below the lowest digital-cluster rung; 'Electronic Temperature Controller' is not automatic climate control; the Light Saber LED tail lamp is not described as connected; the rear window sunshade is not the rear-door sunshades the registry prices; and the 19-inch alloys on Accomplished are credited at the 18-inch rung, the highest the registry holds. The 6-way powered driver's seat is credited at the 4-way rung for the same reason. AMBIGUITY: the brochure footnotes HypAR HUD as 'available in Accomplished only', yet Accomplished+ is defined as features over Accomplished. We credit it to both rather than invent a drop from an ambiguous footnote. EFFICIENCY: Tata publishes no certified figure for any Sierra powertrain in this brochure, so none is stored. WIRELESS ANDROID AUTO (9 Oct 2026): Tata's own brochure (sierra-brochure.pdf, 18 Sept 2026) lists 'Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay' under Pure, features over Smart+, and under Pure L, features over Smart+ L, inherited by every trim above;
