Mahindra Bolero Neo

The upgrade our valuation covers best is N8 → N10 (R): ₹30,898 buys ₹60,720 of equipment — 196% of the price rise, so the kit alone covers what it costs.

Mahindra's compact Bolero: a 1.5 mHawk100 diesel with a manual gearbox, seven seats in a 5+2 layout, under four metres long. It is a separate model from the Bolero, with its own engine, body and price list, and Mahindra sells it under its own name.

All 4 variants, priced from diesel manual upwards. N4, N8, N10 (R) and N11. Left out: the N10 (O), which is the N10 with Mahindra's Multi-Terrain Technology (a locking rear differential) and leatherette seats; we do not price the differential, so its comparison would misstate what the extra money buys. Mahindra publishes no certified efficiency figure, so none is shown.

Which variant to buy

Where the money buys the most equipment, and where it buys the least

One variant on the Mahindra Bolero Neo is covered outright by the kit it adds. Another is mostly paying for something else. Both are computed from the same feature valuations, not chosen by hand.

This is not a recommendation of a trim — it is the variant whose price rise our tracked equipment best explains, and the one it explains worst. A feature you will never use is worth nothing to you, whatever we value it at. Every upgrade, in order.

Mahindra Bolero Neo: questions buyers ask

Which Mahindra Bolero Neo variant is the best value?

N8 1.5 Diesel MT to N10 (R) 1.5 Diesel MT costs ₹30,898, and the equipment it adds is worth ₹60,720 — 196% of the price rise. That is the variant upgrade where equipment explains the most of what you pay. The kit alone covers what the variant costs extra. The figure is computed from the feature difference, not chosen.

Which Mahindra Bolero Neo variant gives back the least?

N4 1.5 Diesel MT to N8 1.5 Diesel MT costs ₹63,000, and the equipment it adds is worth ₹26,680 — 42% of the price rise. The rest of that money goes on things we do not itemise — materials, fit and finish, and the manufacturer's own margin.

How many variants does the Mahindra Bolero Neo have?

4, across 1 powertrain, from ₹9,06,000 to ₹10,39,000 ex-showroom.

What is the EMI on the Mahindra Bolero Neo?

About ₹17,159 a month for the cheapest variant, N4 1.5 Diesel MT: ₹10,39,306 on the road in Delhi, 20% down, and a loan of ₹8,31,445 at 8.75% a year for 5 years. A different rate, tenure or down payment changes it — the EMI calculator works it out for your own figures.

What are the Mahindra Bolero Neo's dimensions, boot space and ground clearance?

It is 3,995 mm long, 1,795 mm wide and 1,817 mm tall, on a 2,680 mm wheelbase. We hold no ground clearance figure from Mahindra's own documents. The fuel tank holds 50 litres. These are Mahindra's own figures.

When was the Mahindra Bolero Neo launched?

The Mahindra Bolero Neo on sale now, the first generation, was launched in India in Jul 2021. It was last facelifted in Oct 2025: Redesigned grille, dark grey 16-inch wheels, new colours, a 22.8 cm touchscreen with rear-view camera, RideFlo suspension tuning and a new top N11 trim.

Is a new Mahindra Bolero Neo or a facelift coming?

Mahindra has announced nothing, and we found no credible reports of one as of 1 Nov 2026.

What colours does the Mahindra Bolero Neo come in?

Mahindra lists 7 colours: Rocky Beige, Jeans Blue, Diamond White, Stealth Black, Pearl White, Pearl White (Dual Tone), Jeans Blue (Dual Tone). Not every colour is offered on every variant.

What is the Mahindra Bolero Neo's safety rating?

Global NCAP (Apr 2024): 1 stars for adult occupant protection and 1 stars for child occupant protection (20.26/34 and 12.71/49 points).

What is the on-road price of the Mahindra Bolero Neo?

The cheapest variant, N4 1.5 Diesel MT, comes to about ₹10,39,306 on road in Delhi — ₹9,06,000 ex-showroom plus road tax, insurance, registration and TCS where it applies. Road tax is set by the state, so the total moves by a lakh or more between them.

How we checked these figures

Data notes — where these figures come from

CORRECTED 18 Oct 2026 from Mahindra's own per-variant specification pages: the N8 carries wheel covers. N10 (R) and N11 carry a centre console armrest and a rear centre armrest: Mahindra's spec pages tick both, and a second published source agrees. Their rear camera is described as having guidelines without saying the lines move, so the moving-guideline camera entry stays uncredited. N4, N8, N10 (R) AND N11. The brochure's equipment table has columns N4, N8, N10, N10 (O) and N11; Mahindra prices an 'N10 (R)' and no plain N10, so the N10 (R) is read as the brochure's N10 column. THE N10 (O) IS LEFT OUT DELIBERATELY: the brochure gives it exactly the N10's equipment plus Multi-Terrain Technology (a locking rear differential, marked on the N10 (O) alone) and leatherette upholstery, and at Rs 10,85,000 it is priced above the N11. Laddered by price, the N11 to N10 (O) step would report the dearer car dropping the N11's 16-inch alloys for 15-inch ones and gaining nothing we price, and the verdict copy would call the difference styling, when what it really buys is traction hardware our registry does not value - the same reason drivetrain is kept out of equipment comparisons. UNDER-CREDITED from the brochure's own wording: the 'Twin-Pod LCD Instrument Cluster' is analogue dials with an LCD and does not reach the digital cluster rung; the steering is tilt-only. The 22.8 cm touchscreen (N10 up) is 8.98 inches and is credited at the 8-inch rung, the nearest at or below it; the brochure does not say whether it carries smartphone mirroring. The N8's Bluetooth/USB music player with four speakers is the basic audio rung. 'Anti glare IRVM' (N8 up) is credited as the manual day/night mirror. Power windows front and rear are standard on every trim. Dual airbags, ABS with EBD and corner braking control are standard; there is no ESC. Static bending headlamps, DRLs, follow-me-home lamps, ISOFIX, the USB-C port and engine start-stop are not registry features. SEGMENT CALL: sub_compact_suv, beside the Bolero, which puts the two Boleros in one matchup. WIRELESS ANDROID AUTO (9 Oct 2026): not credited on any variant. Mahindra's brochure (BoleroNeo-Brochure-19-Dec.pdf) names no smartphone projection at all.
