MG Comet EV: questions buyers ask
Which MG Comet EV variant is the best value?
Executive 17.3 kWh to Excite 17.3 kWh costs ₹1,10,000, and the equipment it adds is worth ₹67,200 — 61% of the price rise. That is the variant upgrade where equipment explains the most of what you pay. No variant on this car is covered outright by the equipment it adds, so this is the closest it gets. The figure is computed from the feature difference, not chosen.
Which MG Comet EV variant gives back the least?
Excite 17.3 kWh to Exclusive 17.3 kWh costs ₹90,000, and the equipment it adds is worth ₹39,200 — 43% of the price rise. The rest of that money goes on things we do not itemise — materials, fit and finish, and the manufacturer's own margin.
How many variants does the MG Comet EV have?
3, across 1 powertrain, from ₹7,89,800 to ₹9,89,800 ex-showroom. Covers the three trims at the outright price; the FC (fast-charging) versions, the Blackstorm edition and battery-rental (BaaS) pricing are left out.
What is the EMI on the MG Comet EV?
About ₹13,822 a month for the cheapest variant, Executive 17.3 kWh: ₹8,37,212 on the road in Delhi, 20% down, and a loan of ₹6,69,770 at 8.75% a year for 5 years. A different rate, tenure or down payment changes it — the EMI calculator works it out for your own figures.
What are the MG Comet EV's dimensions, boot space and ground clearance?
It is 2,974 mm long, 1,505 mm wide and 1,640 mm tall, on a 2,010 mm wheelbase. We hold no ground clearance figure from MG Motor's own documents. These are MG Motor's own figures.
When was the MG Comet EV launched?
The MG Comet EV on sale now, the first generation, was launched in India in Apr 2023. It has not been facelifted since.
Is a new MG Comet EV or a facelift coming?
MG Motor has announced nothing, and we found no credible reports of one as of 1 Nov 2026.
What colours does the MG Comet EV come in?
MG Motor lists 3 colours: Candy White, Aurora Silver, Starry Black. Not every colour is offered on every variant.
What is the MG Comet EV's safety rating?
The current MG Comet EV has not been crash-tested by Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP yet.
What is the on-road price of the MG Comet EV?
The cheapest variant, Executive 17.3 kWh, comes to about ₹8,37,212 on road in Delhi — ₹7,89,800 ex-showroom plus road tax, insurance, registration and TCS where it applies. Road tax is set by the state, so the total moves by a lakh or more between them.
How we checked these figures
Data notes — where these figures come from
Built 11 Oct 2026 from MG's brochure. Three columns: Executive, Excite, Exclusive. The FC versions of Excite and Exclusive add DC fast-charging capability and are left out — a charging port is not equipment the registry prices, and laddering them would publish an upgrade that buys nothing we track. Blackstorm is an appearance edition. RANGE: 230 km, which MG prints as an ARAI figure without naming a MIDC part. MOTOR: 42 PS (30.9 kW), 110 Nm. CHARGER: a 3.3 kW AC wall box is included. SEATS: four, in two doors. MAPPING: the 10.25-inch infotainment and cluster screens earn the 10-inch entries on Excite and Exclusive; the Executive's 7-inch cluster earns the 7-inch rung and its radio the basic-audio rung; the 'i-Smart 2.0' connected suite and digital Bluetooth key are MG's own word. NOT CREDITED: the electronic parking brake, because no auto hold is stated; the 50:50 split rear seat, against an entry for a 60:40 split; power-folding mirrors that are not stated to fold automatically; tilt-only steering; front power windows only (there are no rear doors); indirect TPMS; manual air conditioning. REVERSING CAMERA (re-read 29 Oct 2026): the maker describes the camera without saying its guidelines move with the steering, so the camera entry (moving guidelines) is not credited.
