MG Windsor EV: questions buyers ask
Which MG Windsor EV variant is the best value?
Excite 38 kWh to Exclusive 38 kWh costs ₹1,30,000, and the equipment it adds is worth ₹1,64,500 — 126% of the price rise. That is the variant upgrade where equipment explains the most of what you pay. The kit alone covers what the variant costs extra. The figure is computed from the feature difference, not chosen.
Which MG Windsor EV variant gives back the least?
Exclusive 38 kWh to Essence 38 kWh costs ₹1,00,000, and the equipment it adds is worth ₹61,000 — 61% of the price rise. The rest of that money goes on things we do not itemise — materials, fit and finish, and the manufacturer's own margin.
How many variants does the MG Windsor EV have?
5, across 2 powertrains, from ₹14,84,800 to ₹19,14,800 ex-showroom. Covers all five variants across both batteries; the Commute fleet version and the Inspire and Indulge editions are left out, and battery-rental (BaaS) pricing is not stored.
What is the EMI on the MG Windsor EV?
About ₹26,136 a month for the cheapest variant, Excite 38 kWh: ₹15,83,061 on the road in Delhi, 20% down, and a loan of ₹12,66,449 at 8.75% a year for 5 years. A different rate, tenure or down payment changes it — the EMI calculator works it out for your own figures.
What are the MG Windsor EV's dimensions, boot space and ground clearance?
It is 4,295 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,677 mm tall, on a 2,700 mm wheelbase. Boot space is 604 litres. Ground clearance is 186 mm. These are MG Motor's own figures.
When was the MG Windsor EV launched?
The MG Windsor EV on sale now, the first generation, was launched in India in Sept 2024. It has not been facelifted since.
Is a new MG Windsor EV or a facelift coming?
MG Motor has announced nothing, and we found no credible reports of one as of 1 Nov 2026.
What colours does the MG Windsor EV come in?
MG Motor lists 6 colours: Celadon Blue, Turquoise Green, Aurora Silver, Pearl White, Glaze Red, Starry Black. Not every colour is offered on every variant.
What is the MG Windsor EV's safety rating?
The current MG Windsor EV has not been crash-tested by Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP yet.
What is the on-road price of the MG Windsor EV?
The cheapest variant, Excite 38 kWh, comes to about ₹15,83,061 on road in Delhi — ₹14,84,800 ex-showroom plus road tax, insurance, registration and TCS where it applies. Road tax is set by the state, so the total moves by a lakh or more between them.
How we checked these figures
Data notes — where these figures come from
Built 11 Oct 2026 from MG's July 2026 brochure: five columns, Excite / Exclusive / Essence on the 38 kWh pack and Exclusive Pro / Essence Pro on the 52.9 kWh pack. MG states no 'over X' walk. EXCLUSIVE PRO IS A REAL VARIANT, not an edition — its own column, the bigger pack, 9-speaker Infinity audio, machined R18 wheels and an ivory interior — but it lacks the Essence's ventilated seats and 256-colour ambient lighting, which MG's own FAQ confirms; the two sit on different batteries, so no comparison is published between them. RANGE: 332 km (38 kWh) and 449 km (52.9 kWh), 'standard MIDC test procedure (Part 1 + Part 2)'; the model-page FAQ says '331 to 449 km'. MOTOR: 100 kW, 200 Nm on both. CHARGER: every variant includes one — a 3.3 kW AC box on the Excite, a 7.4 kW AC charger with installation on the rest — plus a 3.3 kW portable cable. LEFT OUT: the Commute fleet variant (₹14,24,000 on the July list), the past Inspire edition and the Indulge appearance edition (₹17,99,800 on MG's list; trim and finish only, see below). MAPPING: the Excite's 25.6 cm (10.1-inch) screen at the 9-inch rung (the Slavia call) and the 15.6-inch GrandView at the 12.3-inch rung; the 8.8-inch cluster at the 7-inch rung; the 6-way powered driver's seat at the 4-way rung; MG's 'Leather*' is man-made and earns the leatherette entry; the leatherette driver armrest earns the front armrest. NOT CREDITED: the 'Infinity View Glass Roof' on Essence and Essence Pro, which does not open; the PM2.5 filter (a filter, not a purifier); the Excite's indirect TPMS; connected-car rows MG marks as a paid subscription are credited where ticked, as the matrix shows them. Regen levels are not credited as paddle shifters. V2L and V2V are not registry features. INDULGE EDITION (14 Oct 2026): left out as an appearance edition. MG's own price list shows WINDSOR EV INDULGE at Rs 17,99,800 (38 kWh), and MG's page describes it as Urban Tan & Black seats, themed Aero-lounge pillows and diamond-cut alloys — trim and finish, none of it registry equipment — the same disposition as Knight, Dark and X-Line editions elsewhere. An 'Indulge Pro' is named on MG's page with no price on its list. REVERSING CAMERA (re-read 29 Oct 2026): the maker describes the camera without saying its guidelines move with the steering, so the camera entry (moving guidelines) is not credited.
