Cars With Wireless Android Auto in India
We value Wireless Android Auto at ₹3,000 on a mid-size SUV, and ₹2,100 to ₹3,750 depending on the segment. 813 of the 1122 variants we track carry it, across 81 of 99 models — the cheapest being the Tata Tiago Pure+ (Petrol manual) at ₹6,09,990.

What is wireless Android Auto?
Wireless Android Auto puts your Android phone's maps, music, calls and messages on the car's touchscreen without plugging in a cable. Get in, and the phone connects on its own.
How it works
The first time, you pair the phone with the car over Bluetooth. After that the phone and the touchscreen connect over Wi-Fi each time you start the car. Your phone does the work; the car's screen is the display and the controls.
Some manufacturers supply a small adapter that plugs into the USB port and turns a wired system into a wireless one. If it comes with the car as standard, it counts here.
What to expect
Wireless is convenient for short trips, but it drains the phone faster than a cable, which charges it while connected. That is why it pairs naturally with a wireless charging pad. Apple CarPlay is often wireless on the same cars, but not always: some systems offer wireless Android Auto and wired-only CarPlay.
Which phones work
Wireless Android Auto needs a phone running Android 11 or later with 5 GHz Wi-Fi, which covers most phones sold in recent years; a few older Google and Samsung phones work on Android 10. Very cheap phones may lack the Wi-Fi it needs. If your phone cannot do it, a cable still works on every car that has Android Auto.
Data, battery and dropouts
The link between phone and car is a direct Wi-Fi connection and uses no mobile data of its own; maps, music streaming and voice search use your phone's data exactly as they would with a cable. The connection can drop briefly where Wi-Fi is crowded or after a phone update, and the phone runs warm on a long drive, which is why a wireless charging pad helps.
How common it is, by fuel
Share of the variants we track that carry Wireless Android Auto.
- Strong hybrid 78% (18 of 23)
- Diesel 78% (176 of 225)
- Electric 74% (77 of 103)
- Petrol 73% (482 of 659)
- CNG 53% (60 of 112)
Of the 459 variants we track with Wireless Phone Charger, 414 also have Wireless Android Auto. A cable-free phone needs both: wireless Android Auto drains the battery and the pad tops it up. A car can have one without the other, so check both.
Where it depends on the version, not just the trim
On these cars, a trim carries it with one gearbox, fuel or battery and not another.
- Hyundai i20 · Asta(O)
- Tata Altroz · Creative, Creative S, Accomplished S
- Hyundai Exter · HX3, HX4, HX6, HX8
- Kia Sonet · HTK(O), HTK+, HTK+(O)
How we decide a variant has it
We credit it where the factory touchscreen runs Android Auto without a cable, either built in or through a wired-to-wireless adapter the manufacturer supplies as standard. Wired-only Android Auto does not count. This entry asks only about Android Auto, so a car with wireless CarPlay and wired Android Auto does not earn it.
What to check at the showroom
- Pair your own phone in the showroom and check it reconnects without a cable.
- If anyone in the family uses an iPhone, check whether CarPlay is wireless too.
- If the wireless link comes through an adapter, confirm it is supplied with the car rather than sold as an accessory.

Standard, extra, or left out
24 cars have wireless Android Auto on every version. On 57 cars it comes only on some versions, so you pay to climb to it. 18 cars do not offer it on any version.
The valuation
₹3,000The factory touchscreen runs Android Auto without a cable — built into the head unit, or through a wired-to-wireless adapter the manufacturer supplies as standard. Most cars that have it pair Apple CarPlay wirelessly too, but this entry asks only about Android Auto. Wired-only Android Auto does not count.
Why this number: A plug-in adapter converts a factory wired system to wireless; mid-range units sell in India for roughly ₹1,700–₹4,100 (Amazon.in listings and a 2026 buying guide, read 9 Oct 2026). The factory version needs no dongle and no extra hop.
A reference point exists, but not for the identical item. This is what the feature is worth to a buyer who wants it — not what it costs a manufacturer to fit, which nobody outside the factory knows and which would not help you anyway. How we arrive at every figure.
What it is worth on each kind of car
The same feature is worth less on a cheaper car: the buyer is more price-sensitive and it is a larger share of what they are paying.

The cheapest variant of each car that has it
The last column is what that variant costs over the car's own entry price. It is not the price of this feature — climbing to that trim buys everything else on the way up too. It is the honest answer to “what do I have to spend on this car to get one?”

Common questions
- What is wireless Android Auto?
- Wireless Android Auto puts your Android phone's maps, music, calls and messages on the car's touchscreen without plugging in a cable. Get in, and the phone connects on its own.
- Does wireless Android Auto use mobile data?
- The connection to the car does not. Navigation, streaming and voice assistants use your phone's mobile data, the same as with a cable.
- Why does wireless Android Auto keep disconnecting?
- Common causes are a crowded Wi-Fi area, the phone's battery saver closing the app, or a pending update on the phone or the car's screen. Updating both and excluding Android Auto from battery saving usually helps; a cable is the fallback.
- Does wireless Android Auto drain the phone's battery?
- Yes, faster than a cable, which charges the phone while connected. On long drives, use a wireless charging pad or a USB charger alongside it.
- Do aftermarket wireless Android Auto adapters work?
- Usually, on cars that already have wired Android Auto: the adapter plugs into the USB port. Quality varies, and some add a short lag. A manufacturer-supplied adapter counts here; one you buy yourself does not.
- What is wireless Android Auto worth in a car?
- CarMaths values it at ₹3,000 on a mid-size SUV, scaling to ₹2,100 on the cheapest segment and ₹3,750 on the most expensive. A plug-in adapter converts a factory wired system to wireless; mid-range units sell in India for roughly ₹1,700–₹4,100 (Amazon.in listings and a 2026 buying guide, read 9 Oct 2026). The factory version needs no dongle and no extra hop.
- Can wireless Android Auto be added after you buy the car?
- Yes — it can be fitted afterwards, so the value is anchored to what the aftermarket charges. If a variant upgrade costs far more than that, the lower trim plus a visit to an accessories shop is usually the better buy.
- Which is the cheapest car with wireless Android Auto?
- Of the 99 cars CarMaths tracks, the cheapest variant carrying it is the Tata Tiago Pure+ (Petrol manual) at ₹6,09,990 ex-showroom, which is ₹1,33,000 above that car's entry price.
- What does a variant upgrade that adds wireless Android Auto cost?
- The typical step that adds it costs ₹1,20,000, across 157 such upgrades — but every one of those upgrades adds other equipment too, so that figure is the price of the whole gap, not of this feature.
